  1. we lost that when they started awarding participation trophies so that the losers dont learn that they need to strive harder to achieve their goal. instead of being rewarded for failure. how about you want that trophy then beat the best to get it because only the best get it. I for one have never seen a loser win 1st place..

    1. I agree about the ‘rewarding failure.’ It leaves a false impression on the child. They grow up thinking the world’s going to be there to pick them up when they fail as adults–that’s going to be a rude awakening for the child (now grown). They won’t know how to deal with failure. How can you learn a lesson if someone is patting you on the back and telling you how wonderful you are as a child? They are building up false impressions, no doubt adding to the suicide rate in the coming years. It’s okay to lose or fail at a task or a game, just don’t get stuck in a rut. That’s easy to do.
